Viamonte at Walnut Creek is proud to have achieved a prestigious Gold level LEED for Homes certification.
In addition to having achieved the prestigious Gold level LEED for Homes™ certification, Viamonte at Walnut Creek has also been selected as a 2022 LEED Homes Award recipient in the Outstanding Multi-Family Project category!
As the most widely used green landscaping system in the world, this award combines the mission of creating more sustainable building standards with the need to improve quality of life among the residents choosing to live there.
What Does It Mean To Be LEED-Certified?
LEED® stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design™—a rating system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council® to recognize and certify high-performance green buildings. For more than 25 years, this merit of excellence has encouraged the growth of environmentally friendly construction practices across the country.
It is the nationally accepted standard for verifying a building is designed, constructed and operated to improved performance across nine key areas: integrative process, location and transportation, sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, indoor environmental quality, innovation, and regional priority.
Life is Greener at Viamonte
LEED-certified buildings save money and resources and have a positive impact on the health of occupants, while promoting renewable, clean energy. At Viamonte, “green building” is in both the small details, using recycled materials and native plants, and the big picture, making sustainable, beautiful, and healthy places to thrive and create community.
From site planning to finish materials, we used design strategies, building systems, materials and methods that ensure Viamonte contributes to the sustainability of our Walnut Creek neighborhood and natural environment in which we are built.
